In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested for the alleged killing of a 70-year-old woman following a confrontation with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. The incident occurred when the deceased's son, Bijendra Kumar, engaged in an argument with the accused, Majid, who resides in the same area. An official stated that the woman, Ramvati Devi, intervened to protect her son and was allegedly pushed by Majid during the altercation, leading to her fatal injuries. Abhishek Srivastava, ACP of Kavi Nagar, mentioned that Bijendra, along with his mother and brother, resided in LIG flats in Madhuban Bapudham under the Kanshiram Avas Yojna. The altercation unfolded around 12.30 am on Sunday, as Majid, an e-rickshaw driver reportedly under the influence of alcohol, was outside the Kumar residence. This prompted Bijendra to question his presence, sparking the argument. Ramvati attempted to calm the situation but was allegedly pushed by Majid, causing her to sustain fatal injuries. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Following a post-mortem examination, an FIR has been lodged at Madhuban Bapudham police station under relevant sections of the law. The accused has been presented in court and remanded to judicial custody.
